Here’s the narrative in India that even dispassionate people agree to. I’m sharing just in case to educate what the sentiment is on this side of the border and hope to learn if anything is significantly astray from reality, given soon there will be major escalations between the two countries.

1. Pakistan is military governed state with government having no power (Evidence : Lack of stable governance and either PMs come from army or are discredited/jailed/killed)
2. It’s in the interest of Pak army (not Pak citizenry) to keep ‘engagement’ on with India so they justify their need to constantly be in power and fulfill their financial or political interest
3. Events like these attacks often happen when foreign dignitaries visiting to give the illusion that everything is not well in Kashmir (it might not be all well in all parts but there are significant areas of Kashmir where there’s been no violence as evidenced by very high tourism post Covid n 370 abrogation) and get international attention. This specific attack was more of a desperate attempt to reinvigorate old wounds in the valley.
4. Indian army is well equipped to manage existing known skirmishes like shelling, border firing in patrolls, raids in high risk areas, protecting high value assets with the assumption that militant or PoK army attacks don’t target innocent tourists as it’s of limited value to both.
5. Given not only innocent citizens were killed but only the men with women asked to deliver the ‘message to Modi’ plus the instigating of communal tensions in a terrorist attack - the entire operation is backed by well formed narratives from Pak side. Even the operation being so clean from entry, execution to exit in such a heavily militarized state is indication of strategically planned attack hinting towards very good financial and military support. This also loosely aligns with Pak finance support from IMF released in 2023-24 and possible weapons procurement from Taliban side after US troop departure. While not conclusive evidence, the pieces fit together very clearly that it’s backed by Pak army/ISI
6. Ppl either are ignorant or unsure of India’s involvement in Pak issues such as Baloch insurgency and others but it doesn’t justify the attack on civilians across all states including JnK
7. Cost of human life in India has declined in recent years, democracy has regressed, our internal problems including our social fabric have increased multifold BUT this was not internal. Indians are accustomed to which types of lies and injustice the system can create for political gain but this was a terrorist attack. 
8. In the past diplomacy has failed, international pressure has failed, economic suppression has failed, ignoring to the point of isolation has failed so the only option left is military action against the army/ISI/LeT vanguards that caused this. The sentiment is we don’t know when retaliatory action will be, how it’ll turn out but the idea is for it be swift, just and precise. No one wants all out war with harm to civilian life but there would be some kinetic action in future.
